Ingredients for Upside Down Orange Cake:
- 2-3 Oranges (cut in rings).
- 1 cup All purpose Flour.
- 1 cup Brown Sugar.
- 1/2 cup Melted Butter (unsalted).
- 1/4 cup Orange juice.
- 2 Eggs(separated).
- 1 Tsp Baking powder.
- 1/4 Tsp Cinnamon powder.
- 1/4 Tsp Salt.
Step by step how to cook Upside Down Orange Cake:
- Sift all purpose flour with salt,baking powder & cinnamon powder twice.preheat oven at 180°c for 10-15 min..
- Spread butter paper in a round mould.sprinkle some sugar at butter paper.cut thin round slices of orange with skin & place slices evenly in mould.fill up little empty places with small orange chunks. (If needed).
- Take yolks of 2 eggs in a bowl.add melted butter in bowl & beat well.add brown sugar & mix..
- It will be a thick batter after adding brown sugar.add orange juice & mix well till all sugar mix in batter..
- Beat whites of 2 eggs in a bowl till whites becomes stiff & dont fall from bowl when turn upside down..
- Add sifted all pupose flour in butter sugar batter gradually & fold well. Now add stifed egg whites in cake mixture & fold well..
- Add cake batter over orange slices in mould.spread batter evenly and bake at 180°c for 40 min.then check by inserting toothpick inside.it comes clean out then cake is ready. Let it cool at room temperature..
- When cake is cooled,place platter over mould & turn cake upside down.as you can see,cake comes out clean without sticking & burning..
- Remove butter paper carefully..
