Orange Cake - It was delicious !!!!! Easy to make and a crowd pleaser !!!. Today I am sharing this Orange Cake! A quick and easy dinner that is ready in under 25 minutes!

Ingredients for Orange Cake:

  1. 1.5 Cups Flour.
  2. 1 tsp Baking powder.
  3. 1/2 Tsp Salt.
  4. Pinch salt (For whipping the egg whites).
  5. 1/2 Cup Oil/ Butter.
  6. 3/4 Cup Sugar (Preferrably Castor - granulated will also work, can be grinded).
  7. 2 Large Eggs or 3 if Small.
  8. 1/3 Cup Freshly squeezed Orange Juice.
  9. 1 Tbsp Orange zest (Be gentle to get the zest not the pith - white part).
  10. 1 tsp vanilla essence.
  11. Orange Glaze:.
  12. 1 Cup Icing sugar.
  13. 1/4 tsp Orange zest (Optional).
  14. 4-5 Tbsp Freshly squeezed orange juice.

Step by step how to cook Orange Cake:

  1. Separate yolks from whites. Set aside in separate bowls..
  2. Sift flour with salt and baking powder. Set aside..
  3. Preheat oven to 170C and grease your tin..
  4. Cream butter with sugar. add yolks one a time while beating each time..
  5. Add orange juice and zest and beat. Then add flour. Set aside..
  6. Clean/Wash your whisk and dry well. Then in a separate bowl, whisk egg whites till frothy, then add a pinch of salt and keep beating till it forms stiff peaks..
  7. Now add, 1/3 of the whites to batter and stir in in with a spatula or wooden spoon. Then add half of the balance whites fold it in, then the remaining whites and mix it all till incorporated. Dont overmix..
  8. Pour batter into baking tin and bake for 25- 30 mins. Cool completely..
  9. Glaze: Sieve icing sugar, add your zest and juice till reaches a drizzling consistency. Then drizzle over cooled cake. Enjoy!!!.
