Ingredients for Potatoes in Chettinand Masala:
- 5 boiled potatoes.
- 2 onions chopped.
- leaves Few curry.
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds.
- 1/4 tsp hing.
- to taste Salt.
- 3 tbsp oil.
- For chettinand masala:.
- 1 tbsp jeera.
- 1 tbsp coriander seeds.
- 1 tbsp urad dal.
- 3-4 whole red chillies.
- 1/2 tsp black peppercorns.
- 1 tbsp Kashmiri chilli powder.
Step by step how to cook Potatoes in Chettinand Masala:
- In a pan take all the ingredients except Kashmiri chilli powder for the masala and dry roast on low flame for 5-7 mins.Let it cool and grind it to a coarse powder.Add Kashmiri chilli powder and mix well..
- In a kadai take oil and add mustard seeds, hing and curry leaves and as it spluttter add chopped onion and saute for 5 mins..
- Chop the potatoes and add to the onions.Add at to taste and the chettinand masala around 2-3 tbsp and give it a mix and cook on low flame for 5 mins..
- Instant chatpata potatoes are ready.. Serve with dal rice, chapati or u can also serve as starter.. For starter use baby potatoes..
